Augsburg's Food Makerspace
Fundraiser for Augsburg University

Augsburg's Food Makerspace Ben is raising money for Augsburg University.

Doing our part to Make Food and Build Community

Augsburg's new HCSBR provides a space to extend what it means to do STEM and Science Outreach in our community.  The Food Makerspace provides a location for existing classes like the Science of Food and Cooking and the Art, History, and Science of Beer.  Class sessions on hops or vegetable fermentation will have a whole new energy in this space.  We believe that the choices we make about what we eat has a huge impact on our health, our economy, our communities, and our environment.  Everyone can do their part to contribute to a sustainable food system.  Making food is one way to become intentional about what we eat -literally thoughtful stewards.

We want to extend these experiential learning opportunities to our entire community through workshops and making events that are open to the public.  The Augsburg Physics Department and Campus Kitchens plan to bring 8 workshops to campus March - June 2018, support pop-up and spontaneous Food Maker events year round, and build a library of tools (Chocolate 3D Printer, Ice Cream Machine, etc.) to get people excited about making!
