Jalisa is deeply committed to fostering community and connecting resources to bring people together in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Jalisa was born and raised in the Midwest and grew up just outside of Madison, Wis. After attending the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in strategic communications, she fell in love with Minneapolis and has called it home ever since.
Post-graduation, Jalisa took on her roommate's challenge to run the Twin Cities Marathon, which sparked her passion for pursuing a more fulfilling career. She has since dedicated her time to connecting with local organizations and businesses that serve the community. She comes to GiveMN as a seasoned operations and scaling professional with a wealth of experience in growing local startups within the fitness and zero-waste industries. She is excited to bring her skill set to the nonprofit sector by working hand-in-hand with colleagues and community partners toward a common goal of igniting generosity.
Jalisa lives in south Minneapolis with her husband, their two kids, and their rescue pup. As a family, they enjoy exploring nature, snuggling up for a backyard movie night, and trying out new neighborhood restaurants. During the frigid winter months, you will likely find her near a jigsaw puzzle and a cozy heat source.
