Classica Chamber Players is a piano trio of good friends and colleagues, exploring the rich repertoire for the combination of piano/fortepiano, violin and cello. Developed in the 18th century, this particular group of instruments made possible a fuller and more varied texture. With the fortepiano, we are able to appreciate its unique qualities and experience the auditory reality of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and others of this period.
We are grateful to the Schubert Club for the use of one of their replica fortepianos from the Schubert Club Music Museum, when the repertoire is appropriate.
Our back-to-back concerts this fall are October 19, 7:30 pm, at the infamous MetroNOME Brewery, where every pint goes to music education! What could be better?
October 20, 2024, 3 pm, we are playing at the Art Gallery at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, with music of Beethoven, Dvorak and Schubert.
Mary Jo Gothmann, piano/fortepiano, Julie Ayer, violin/viola, and Sally Dorer, cello are the musicians of Classica Chamber Players.
Thank you for supporting live chamber music.
