CAN Dance Education & Outreach Program
Project for Minnesota Dance Theatre and School

We're bringing the Nutcracker Fantasy to a new generation, and we need your support.

Entering its third year, our CAN Dance Education program has already reached more than 4,138 elementary school students enrolled in public and chartered schools in the Twin Cities, offering free transportation and admission to a special matinee performance of Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker Fantasy in December.

The multi-phase program continues with school visits in the spring, during which MDT faculty lead classroom movement demonstrations and invite any and all interested second and third-grade students who attended the Nutcracker to participate in a two week, cost-free summer intensive in dance and music theory at MDT's studios.

Summer intensive participants who show initiative and improvement during the program receive an invitation to study at MDT during the year on full scholarship.

This year, five dancers from our CAN Dance Program will join their fellow MDT students at the State Theatre for our 53rd season of Nutcracker Fantasy performances.

This Give to the Max Day, help MDT make the studio, and the stage, more accessible to all students who wish to experience the magic of dance.

When you give, we'll enter your name in a drawing to win four tickets and a special backstage tour for the Nutcracker Fantasy performance of your choice!
