Rice Street "Old School" Boxing Gym

The Rice Street “Old School” Boxing Gym was founded in 2019 by Mike “The Rice Street Rocker” Evgen, the 1992 IBO JR Welterweight champion of the world. His vision was to have a gym that not only taught the fundamental leadership skills (discipline, motivation, honesty, integrity and an overall sense of mental and physical health) through the sport of boxing.  Mike’s goal was to give back what had been given to him, skills that are the foundation of life to today’s kids whose families who normally afford memberships access.  He felt that with these skills and guidance taught by multiple former professional boxers the goals these kids set were reachable with dedication and hard work.
