About us

Pope County Humane Society was first established in 1985 and incorporated in 1987.  We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our goal is to prevent cruelty to animals, provide for the welfare of animals, and to promote public education for responsible pet ownership. We take in injured, sick, found, abandoned, and surrendered animals.  We provide for their physical needs as well as kind and loving hands to relieve their stress.  We have some amazing staff, volunteers, and foster families that help us meet the needs of our animals.

This Give to the Max, we’d like to raise funds to help us give back to the community.

Our goal is to raise $4,000 to purchase a tag engraver, so community members can stop in and get an affordable, custom, tag for their pets. By donating today, you will help our community avoid needing to go to a large pet store, order online and wait for shipping, and an added bonus? Funds received from pet tag purchases will directly benefit a shelter animal in need.Identification for pets is an important tool should they ever get lost. While we highly encourage microchipping, something as simple as an ID tag makes reunification much quicker. It eliminates the need for special scanners, and enables finders to directly contact the lost pets family.

Stay tuned for some exciting donation perks!
