Early Work Records

Musicians today face the daunting prospect of having their art go entirely unnoticed in the vast expanse of digitized music distribution. While streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music allow musicians to release their music at any stage in their career, with or without the backing of professional companies who will help them hone their sound and find their audience (“record labels”), the fact of the matter is that the majority of musicians are destined for obscurity, never connecting with their potential audience. This overwhelms and discourages musicians. Too many potentially brilliant artists struggle against the machinations of the industry and give up their dream before they’re able to connect with their audience or achieve their true potential.

Early Work Records exists to support artists at the outset of their careers. We do this by providing private demo critiques, creating public-facing publicity materials, and producing physical records – as well as handling digital distribution – so musicians can focus on making music.

This 501c3 charitable organization was founded in 2024 by three lifelong musicians with experience in the music industry and expertise in writing, performing, producing, recording, and promoting music. Early Work’s deep listening services not only provide authentic feedback, but also validation at a crucial stage. Artists need encouragement to persevere through the challenges of a career in music, and the staff at Early Work have the training and passion to provide it. In order to support our operations, Early Work Records needs to raise $1500 during Give to the Max Day. These funds will help establish the infrastructure we need to develop our programming into a sustainable operation and allow us to provide our services to more and more musicians in need.
