The Anoka-Hennepin Parent Advisory Council provides input and support to ECFE, School Readiness & Kindergarten Readiness Preschool programs.
The parent volunteers of the Parent Advisory Council support Anoka-Hennepin Schools Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and School Readiness Preschool programs by sharing their energy, ideas, and suggestions.
Parent Advisory Council members:
- Advise staff members on a variety of issues affecting services to families that participate in the ECFE, School Readiness Preschool, and Kindergarten Readiness Preschool programs. This can include policy, program fees, program services and parents’ perspectives on ways to improve quality and accessibility.
- Sponsor events for families including Community Wellness Day, parent speakers and Week of the Young Child.
- Raise Funds and determine how proceeds are used. Past proceeds have been used for mini-grants, classroom materials, books to give to families through teen parent or home visiting program and diapers, formula or food to help families in crisis.
- Inform other parents, legislators and community members about ECFE and Preschool programs, school district issues and other community concerns that affect children and families.
