The North Star Story Summit (NS3) is a five-day, four-festival event that takes place each October in Duluth, Minnesota. It features four tracks: Film, Television, Web, and Youth content. Events are produced by four well-known, major Minnesota festivals: the Duluth Superior Film Festival, the Catalyst Content Festival, The EDU Film Festival, and the Minnesota Web Fest.
In October, Duluth becomes the go-to location for content creators of all types. With screenings and events at the NorShor Theatre, Zeitgest Zinema, Teatro Zuccone, Fitger's Spirit of the North, and the Depot Theatre, NS3 literally floods downtown Duluth with content and community.
Hundreds of filmmakers and industry executives from around the world fly into Duluth to present their work, attend panels and mixers, network with industry professionals and studio execs, meet mentors, find fans, scout locations, and enjoy Duluth.
Thousands of film lovers and content creators enjoy screenings of youth content, feature-length and short films; presentations of podcasts, script readings, and story pitches; mixers, parties, live music, and networking events; fine food, great entertainment, and stellar hospitality.
North Star Story Summit is a unique event: a collaboration of four festivals and two non-profits with multiple producing partners and local backers. It operates with the support of grants from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, and the Minnesota State Arts Board - along with sponsorships from local and statewide organizations and small and large donations from private donors.
The North Star Story Summit is a program of the Northern Film Alliance (NFA) and a collaboration between the NFA and Independent Television Festival, Inc.
