Ellie's Fundraiser for Soul Source Foundation

Dear Folks:

 I am hosting a special event on October 19th at 10:30am at 6115 Culpepper Lane, Madison, WI  to share about a very special non-profit organization I started many years ago called Soul Source Foundation.  It was aimed at helping young and older women in Kenya—who were desperate for help and guidance.  My organization (Soul Source) was focused on helping these women begin to see themselves as valued and capable and that they were able to start their own businesses and become able to support their families through gardening projects and selling their vegetables they raised in massive fields. 

We provided Empowerment Training for them and guided them along the way until today where they are very successful in making things happen for women, young girls, and the whole community (even the men have joined in the effort).  The location was at the southern tip of Kenya where my organization originally began, with the help of a dear friend from Kenya—Marren Ojode, who supported the women who were destitute in southern Kenya (near Kisumu and Lake Victoria).

I left my organization, Soul Source, a few years ago and passed it onto one of our dear members who took it over and has continued to make it very successful.  She lives in Chicago and occasionally stops by us in Madison.  I invited Gayle Hammer to come and share what is happening with Soul Source now and how the women have taken over there, as well as young people in high school, finding a future that is far more hopeful than when we began working there.  She is primed to share what is happening there and I would like to have you come and hear her presentation as well as ask questions about the future of Soul Source and the young women we’ve supported.  She will encourage you to support the Soul Source work through contributions in any way possible.

I will be happy to have some goodies for all of us to eat after Gayle’s presentation.  I look forward to having you join us and October 19th at 10:30 am.
