Help transform the lives of children in St. Paul’s Rondo neighborhood through education
St. Peter Claver Catholic School, one of four schools that make up Ascension Catholic Academy, is a vital part of the fabric of the Twin Cities African American community and has been serving children and families for nearly 70 years. It has a rich history as a beacon for the care and development of the whole child, and the school continues to play that role today. The school is a “mission-critical” inner-city school and an important anchor for the Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul.
Who We Serve
- 97% are children of color.
- 18% are Catholic.
- 74% qualify for free or reduced lunch.
No Scholar is Turned Away
We set our tuition well below our cost of educating each child. We work with families to make this transformational education affordable and available to all who desire it. Generous donors like you who support Catholic education provide 95 percent of our revenue, allowing us to provide financial aid grants to our scholars.
Individualized Learning Plans and Social-Emotional Learning
Teachers and staff are working as a team with scholars and families to develop individualized learning plans that set academic goals AND social-emotional educational goals. Teachers are supported in achieving these goals with observation, feedback and 1:1 coaching. Wellness will be a key goal for scholars and staff.
SLAM Summer Program
Scholars from all four Ascension Catholic Academy schools come together for Super Summer Language and Math (SLAM), a six-week program aimed at combating summer slide and providing a safe, enriching experience for scholars and peace of mind for their families.
THANK YOU!
