Meet Jada! Jada is one of our star participants. Jada left home at 15, and eventually found housing through a program at age 17. However, the building she was placed in was overrun by roaches, so she left. She couch-hopped and stayed with family when she could. She was lucky enough to find a shelter bed, but drama and accusations from other shelter residents forced her out on the street again. It was at that point that Jada says she realized she "needed to focus on myself, and be careful about who I let into my life". She eventually found another shelter, and was referred to Project Live Out Loud. Today, Jada has her own apartment where she feels safe and comfortable. She is enrolled in culinary school and also works in a restaurant. Her goal is to be head chef at a facility that helps other people in some way. We are super proud to be able to help Jada achieve her dreams.
