Operations Fundraiser for the Kashubian Cultural Institute and Polish Museum
We invite you to participate in our Operations Fundraiser to support the Kashubian Cultural Institute and Polish Museum! As the only Kashubian Museum in the United States we remain a vital institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Kashubian and Polish culture. As stewards of our community's traditions, we rely on your generosity to continue our important work.
Purpose of the Fundraiser
The funds raised during this initiative will directly support various operational needs, ensuring that our cultural programs, exhibits, and outreach efforts thrive. Specifically, your contributions will help us with:
Exhibit Maintenance: Our collections tell the stories of our heritage, and maintaining them is crucial for future generations. Funds will ensure that artifacts are preserved and displayed in a way that educates and inspires visitors.
Cultural Programs: We host a variety of events, workshops, and festivals throughout the year that engage the community and promote cultural understanding. Your support will help us expand these offerings, making them accessible to more people.
Outreach Efforts: We aim to reach a broader audience through educational initiatives and community partnerships. Contributions will help us enhance our outreach strategies, ensuring that our cultural narratives resonate with diverse groups.
Celebrating Polish Festivals
Our annual Polish Festivals are a cornerstone of our community engagement, providing a lively platform to celebrate our culture. Events such as Constitution Day, Oplatki Sunday, and the Smaczne Jablka Tasty Apple Festival draw together families and friends in joyful celebration. Constitution Day honors the historic Polish constitution with educational activities and cultural performances, while Oplatki Sunday brings the community together in a beautiful tradition of sharing wafers and blessings. The Smaczne Jablka Tasty Apple Festival showcases delicious apple-based dishes, local artisans, and family-friendly activities, creating cherished memories and fostering connections among participants.
New Additions: Polish Art and Polish Theater
We are excited to announce new additions to our offerings, including Polish Art and Polish Theater. Our Polish Art section will feature a rotating collection of works by contemporary artists, showcasing the vibrancy and diversity of Polish creative expression. This initiative aims to inspire and engage visitors, while fostering an appreciation for Polish artistry. In addition, our Polish Theater program will bring theatrical performances and workshops to our community, offering a unique glimpse into Polish storytelling traditions. These additions not only enhance our cultural programming but also create opportunities for local artists and performers to share their talents.
Student Ambassador Program
A highlight of our fundraising efforts is the Student Ambassador Program, which provides an extraordinary opportunity for students to travel to Bytow, Poland. This immersive experience allows participants to connect with their heritage firsthand, engaging with local culture, history, and language.
Through this program, students will:
Experience Cultural Exchange: Students will immerse themselves in the rich Kashubian culture, gaining insights that deepen their appreciation for their roots.
Build Lifelong Connections: This journey fosters friendships and networks that extend beyond borders, enriching students’ lives and broadening their perspectives.
Develop Leadership Skills: Participants will take on leadership roles during their travels, enhancing their communication and teamwork abilities as they represent our institute and community abroad.
How You Can Help
Your support is crucial in sustaining these initiatives. Whether through a one-time donation, a recurring contribution, or participation in our events, every bit helps us continue our mission. Together, we can ensure that the Kashubian Cultural Institute and Polish Museum remain vibrant centers for cultural education and celebration.
