GTMD19 - Great Tails Animal Rescue

Itasca County hasn't had an operational animal shelter/ rescue in approximately 2 years. Due to not having a shelter, surrounding area shelters have been very accommodating , as well as overwhelmed by taking in not only their animals in need, but Itasca Counties' animals as well. Our board members have completed almost all of the steps to starting a foster based rescue. Our next steps will be to vote on foster home policies, procedures, and contracts. After that we will have a foster home recruitment event scheduled November 13th, 2019 and foster home checks will be completed to insure the safety of the animals that come into our foster program. Our hope is to take in our first foster animal by the end of 2019. Donated funds will go towards supplies, veterinary care, and start up costs.
