Flying Foot Forum

25 years of creating innovative percussive dance theater that shares the joy of rhythm through dance, story and song with people of all ages

Immerse yourself in gorgeous music, theatrical storytelling and percussive dance set in a Parisian nightclub. This mash up fuses vaudeville, tap, cabaret, follies and opera to evoke Americans’ wildest imaginings of life in the City of Light. “A Francophile’s dream: or rather, an absinthe-soaked, fantastical mélange of hyper-kinetic dancing, rapid-fire rhyming, wildly inventive percussion, live on-stage music and vibrantly patterned costuming.” – Camille LeFevre, Star Tribune

Joe Chvala and the Flying Foot Forum are celebrating 25 years of ground-breaking, mind-bending, highly physical and wildly theatrical works. Our current concert series features fan favorites and a remount of our over-the-top, faux French, cult classic, FRENCH TWIST at Park Square Theatre, running June 22-July 15, 2018. Tickets:

On July 2 & 9, 2018 we'll show our Works-In-Progress Fundraiser including Joe Chvala's dance/theatre foray into Kevin Baker novel, DREAMLAND; taking place in 1910 around the Dreamland Amusement Park and the Triangle Factory fire. The Forum will also present new works-in-progress by Jeremy Bensussan, Rush Benson and Charles Robison, Karla Grotting and Molly Kay Stoltz, and we'll premiere the updated FFF Film SPLIT ROCK SHUFFLE, by Joe Chvala and Steve Campbell.

We're already looking forward to our 2019 remount of HEAVEN, a powerful original dance/music/drama about the Bosnian conflicts in the 1990's, which will open at Park Square Theatre in St Paul. Join us as we "beat the drum" to mark 25 years of striking our feet on the floor, slapping out rhythms, telling tall tales, opening our hearts and creating multi-faceted, always engaging, deeply human works of art.
