Technovation[MN] -- (young women ages 12-18 design and code mobile apps as they participate in this global coding and entrepreneurial challenge) + the festive Appapalooza
Get With the Program -- workshops for educators -- developing coding awareness and skills among K-8 educators and after-school Code Club leaders through workshops, conferences, mentor-teachers and the MN Coding in the Classroom Leadership Cohort
Twin Cities CoderDojo -- (free, mentored coding environment for kids 8-17) started April 2013 and has welcomed 3000+ young coders to explore web and app design, gaming, systems and electronics. CoderDojoTC has inspired additional MN branches.
Rebecca CoderDojo -- (free mentored coding environment for girls an young women ages 8-16) started February 2016 and has welcomed 300+ unique young girl coders to explore Scratch, App Inventor, and Arduino.
Northfield CoderDojo -- MN most rural chapter of CoderDojo offering young people a free, supportive, open-ended environment for learning and advancing technology skills. Coders ages 6-18 meet monthly at safe space to be creators and not just consumers of technology.
Code Clubs -- youth learn to code after school at community sites. Code Savvy launched code clubs and coding events at several locations in North Minneapolis and other communities around the Twin Cities during 2015. Please direct inquiries from potential community partners to [email protected]
Digital Empowerment Academy -- North Minneapolis teens explore digital literacy and coding.
