North American Bear Center

Make a difference for bear education everywhere! Your donations will help us replace myths and misconceptions with scientific facts!

Our mission:  Advance the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears, their relations with humans, and their role in ecosystems. There is a huge need for accurate information. The North American Bear Center is dedicated to replacing old myths with facts; it lets people learn from the bears themselves about bear behavior, ecology, and their relations with humans.

We invest your Give to the Max Day donations into long-lasting improvements so your dollars will continue to help bears for years to come

Your donations this year (along with your generous GTMD16 donations) will help educate the next generation with a new Cub Room coming Spring 2018!
Children of all ages will learn just as cubs do, through play and socialization. Antlers by Klaus, a top nature designer, is working with us to create unique interactive exhibits and displays that will engage children and pique their interest in black bears, nature, and other animals in the Northwoods. Children will explore the hidden world of black bears with hands-on activities and new touchscreen games.

Regardless of where you live, please be sure to check our website www.bear.org. You will find live cams of our Four Ambassador bears, Ted, Lucky, Holly and Tasha; information about our Educational Outreach programs; a link to our Facebook page; a gift shop; along with location and hours for you to plan your visit to this truly remarkable one of a kind nature center to learn about bears from the bears themselves
