The GiveMN Help Team is making planned system updates to our customer service software and will be unavailable to respond to help requests through the weekend while the updates are being made. If you send a help request through Sunday, it will be logged and we will reply to it at the beginning of next week. Donate Today to Support Reproductive Health Needs in the Brainerd Lakes Area!!

Donate to Advocates for Reproductive Education (WeARE) 11/7 - 11/16, 2017!!

WeARE serving the Brainerd Lakes Area with education, advocacy, and now services via WeARE-The Clinic!  With the uncertainties in today’s climate about access to birth control and other reproductive health care services, your support and donations to our clinic are vital to ensure all people, especially those in rural communities, have the high quality of services they deserve.  You can help!

WeARE-The Clinic provides birth control and STI testing and treatment for youth, young adults, and those underserved in the Brainerd Lakes Area.  For example, your contribution can help pay for:

IUD ($800 each)Year's supply of birth control ($100)STI community-wide hosted testing day at Central Lakes Community College ($4,000)Single STI test ($40)

Consider that OUR cost for an IUD is $800.  We could provide these long-term devices to TEN women who cannot pay by raising $8,000 from this campaign.  As a special Give to the Max challengeHELP PURCHASE TEN IUDs for those underserved in our community.

After offering monthly education and advocacy for the past two years, WeARE opened a clinic early October, 2017 in Brainerd to provide education, birth control, and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Crow Wing County public health offers no family planning nor STI testing and treatment for the clients it serves. While our community includes over 2,000 high school students and 6,000 students attending community college, there are no youth-focused reproductive health services for this population. The higher than average pregnancy and STI (sexually transmitted infection) rates in Crow Wing County are reflective of the gap in education and lack of services. Research shows that adolescent pregnancy (age 14-20) is a major predictive factor for lower education and socioeconomic potential and in fact, poverty. (National Campaign on Teen Pregnancy Prevention)

WeARE-The Clinic offers these services:

Female annual wellness examsEmergency contraceptionBirth control, including IUDs and implantsSTI/STD testing and treatment (male and female)Pap testsBreast examsPregnancy testingHIV testingUrinary and vaginal infection testing and treatmentSexual health education

All care is personal, confidential.
Everyone is welcome!   WeARE is 'Rainbow Welcoming' of LGBTQ community.

No person will be denied needed services based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, nor the ability to pay.
