YFC programs consist of: Juvenile Justice Ministry and Campus Life
Juvenile Justice Ministry: Many kids are neglected, abused, angry, isolated and considered a nuisance by adults. Many have made choices that are destructive in their lives. YFC's Juvenile Justice Ministry (JJM) offers a bi-weekly program at the Itaskin Juvenile Center and Thistledew Camp . Kids also spend hours talking to the YFC staff about serious issues in their lives at the Ground Floor youth center in Grand Rapids. For many, the youth center becomes a "second home" for teens needing support & guidance.
"I feel I've done a lot of wrong and I want to learn to do right. I just want a better life when I get out on the streets again. YFC staff have made a differance in my life. I now have hope in my future."
(Matt, a resident at Thistledew)
Campus Life is a program for high school students where the staff spends many hours with them building bridges of authentic friendships. Weekly meetings provide fun activities & lively discussions. The staff thinks the world of teens & believes they deserve to know what life can hold for them. Kids have a blast laughing, trying new things and just being with their friends. The staff shares the love of God in ways that have an impact on their lives.
"Campus Life takes something that is boring, like religion & makes it interesting. Campus Life is about life, friends, fun and makes a big difference in my life." (Sally, a Campus Life student)
