Help us reach our match of $2,000 by the United Way of Washington County East Board of Directors!
We are a strong
community! We are one that stands to UNITE to make our community the best.
Our community remains a strong, vibrant community, however, there is still a strong need for support around poverty, homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse, and mental and chemical health.
BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY TOGETHER
We are committed to being an organization that is driven by vision, mission, values and strategy. We are dedicated to strengthening and measuring the needs of our community through funds raised and granted to 21 local agencies representing 41 programs.
The United Way of Washington County East fulfills its mission by working collaboratively to:
- Provide basic needs and financial stability
- Improve health and independence, especially for those who are elderly, have disabilities, and/or who struggle with mental or physical illness
- Ensure that our children and youth can thrive, today and in the future
- Support self-sufficiency and connect people to the services they need
As we do this, we’ll stay true to our core mission of keeping our community strong for years to come – just as we’ve done for over 60 years. We’ll keep working with our partner agencies (currently 21 highly-effective nonprofits) that focus on our priorities of Youth, Basic Needs, Health, and Self-Sufficiency and have helped more than 27,00 people in our community over the past year.
United Way of Washington County-East also supports partnerships and initiatives such as “Stuff the Bus”, an event that just recently collected over $11,500 in school supplies to help students in our Community succeed in the classroom – and was recognized by the Stillwater School District for its excellence. We have designed an affiliate group called Women UNITED, formerly known as Women’s Leadership Council. This is a group of women that have a common passion and a shared cause – women helping women through a scholarship fund helping low-income single woman in need to empower and support better employment opportunities and a stronger community safety net. We also partner with “Fare for All” – a program that discounts food up to 40% and is available for all community members.
We LIVE UNITED by collaborating with partner agencies, corporations, community leaders and people like you.
