OUR MISSION: To inspire young singers to pursue excellence in choral music through education and performance
WHO WE ARE
Twin Cities Youth Chorale is a vibrant, nonprofit auditioned choral organization for 2nd grade and older boys and girls with unchanged voices from communities across the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. We are comprised of two groups. Our TCYC chorus is for more mature and/or accomplished youth in 4th grade and higher and is under the artistic direction of Ann Wingert-Williams. We also have a junior chorus, The Debut Choir, which is directed by Ann Bordonaro. The Debut Choir is perfect for younger and/or less experienced youth in 2nd grade or higher. No prior choral experience is necessary to audition for either group, only a love of singing!
TCYC provides outstanding musical opportunities for young singers through workshops, collaborations, festivals, access to traditional and non-traditional concert locations, challenging repertoire, and solid music education principles. Our wonderful artistic directors are all licensed music educators with many years of experience sharing their knowledge of and passion for the choral art with children.
WHAT WE DO
We inspire young singers to pursue excellence in choral music through education and performance. Participants are welcome regardless of gender, race, or creed. The Twin Cities Youth Chorale is affordable and our schedule is family friendly. Tuition assistance may be available for families demonstrating financial need.
HOW WE DO IT
The Chorale works to fulfill its mission in a number of ways: 1) Artistically excellent concerts by the choruses are presented across the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area; 2) Community service programs benefiting area food banks or senior citizens' groups are incorporated into each season; 3) Our Annual TCYC Youth Choral Festival, an opportunity for metro area children's choirs to share their talent and achievements with each other and with an intergenerational public audience
WHY WE DO IT
To contribute to our community by keeping quality choral music vibrant for our children!
