TC Feeds Foundation

Our Mission

TC Feeds Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that healthy meals and locally raised foods are accessible to everyone in our community. In collaboration with generous support from our partners, farmers, volunteers & donors we deliver healthy meals for less than $2.50 each. With your help, we can provide more nourishing meals to those in need, support local farmers and ensure excess local food goes to those who need it most.

Our Story

TC Feeds was started by a group of local farmers who saw that too much of locally raised food went unharvested or unused.  When a farmer plants a crop, they need to plant an extra amount to account for any unfavorable future growing conditions. There isn't always a way to sell the extra food that results, and it often goes to waste. Meanwhile, 6% of our neighbors in Minnesota are experiencing food insecurity (this increases to 7.5% in Hennepin County!). We knew something had to be done to bridge this gap and feed our neighbors.

In the Works: New Partnership with Ridgeview Clinics

Donations will also support a pilot program with Ridgeview Clinics where we will track health outcomes of participants who receive TC Feeds prepared meals and convenient meal kits. We have already secured $125,000 of local food to use, but we need additional funding to make our partnership a reality.

This will include:

1. Hiring part-time staff to coordinate volunteers to help cook meals
2. Sourcing additional ingredients for our recipes & meal kits
3. Providing more meals to local families facing hunger
4. Supporting local farmers & preventing food waste
