Providing battered women and their children with advocacy, safety, and space to heal in an environment that nurtures hope.
Until you find your voice.
Until you can stand up for yourself.
Until you can move on with your life.
Michelle considers Safe Haven her "light at the end of a very dark tunnel." She came to Safe Haven Shelter for support from an abusive partner. The support groups and services offered to her provided a place to share her experience, gain validation and acknowledgement, and left her empowered so that she found the strength to create a healthy life for herself free from violence.
Hundreds of victims and survivors and their children in the Twin Ports area just like Michelle come to Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center each year seeking a new life. Coming from all classes and backgrounds, they share a similar experience: battered and abused by those who claim to love them. Living in a state of fear on a daily basis is the reality for most of our clients. Providing safety, support, education, legal advocacy, and access to a variety of public services and benefits helps to transform their lives from victim to survivor to empowered self-advocate.
Please join us in helping individuals in this community, and join the movement to end domestic violence.
