RANGE RESPITE PROJECT

Family caregivers with extreme stress show signs of premature aging, which can take 10 years from their life.

Why we do what we do...

Mrs. J.L. cared for her husband for months before reaching out for help from Range Respite. She received a Hugs & Stitches quilt and wrote, “the beautiful color lap robe is …a loving reminder of how much it means to have wonderful people like you to lighten my burden.” She soon realized that even a few hours away each week helped her to refresh and continue in her exhausting role and said, “I wish I had asked for help much sooner!”

After Mr. J.L. passed away, his wife continued to receive caregiver support through the Good Grief Program. Mrs. J.L. sent another note,

“Thank you all for the kindness you gave to Mr. J.L. and me. Your staff was very professional and we greatly appreciate what you did for us. I always felt J was in very good hands when I had to leave him. You were all so kind. God's Blessing!"

Sincerely,

Mrs. J.L. & family

Support / Advocacy

Range Respite’s Caregiver Consultants offer guidance about available services and help  families make critical decisions about their unique situations.

Our certified Caregiver Consultants are experts who will get to know the caregiver’s  family, make recommendations, explain the support services offered in our area, and guide them through difficult transitions and decisions.

Respite Care ~ A Gift of Time

Experts say that family caregivers need to give themselves at least four hours of respite per week for a time of self care. Range Respite offers help providing respite through a volunteer respite program and by offering scholarships for eligible families to help with the cost of paid respite care.
