$50,000 Goal
At PRG, we're narrowing the racial homeownership gap. Donating to PRG ensures that more families of color achieve affordable homeownership or stay in their homes when struggling to pay the mortgage. Our prepurchase education and one-on-one advising programs result in approximately 220 new homeowners of color annually.
Homebuyer EDUCATION and advising
By the end of October, we had provided homebuyer education to 788 households, more than double all of last year. Of these clients, 93% were first-time homebuyers and 50% were first generation homebuyers.
Foreclosure Prevention Advising
We know keeping families, especially BIPOC families, in their homes is crucial to closing the racial homeownership gap. In 2023, 100% of our clients with resolved cases avoided foreclosure, 43% were BIPOC homeowners and there was no difference in outcomes between our BIPOC and white homeowners.
Affordable Housing Development
We continued to address the lack of inventory of affordable entry level homes with the construction of more new homes in 2023. In addition to being Energy Star certified, our new homes now also meet Department of Energy (DOE) Zero Energy Ready Homes requirements (ZERH). Adding ZERH requirements increases energy savings to nearly $3000 annually for PRG homeowners compared to the average home.
Public Policy
We use our “boots on the ground” knowledge to influence public policy at the state and local levels. Too often, those tasked with creating policy are far too removed from the issue they are trying to address. Our commitment of staff time and other organizational resources helped lay the groundwork for the historic investments that are now beginning to be deployed.

Donor Privacy Policy
PRG collects and maintains subscriber and donor contact information and giving history. We use this information to communicate about our work and its impact and to solicit additional donations. We will never share or sell donor information. We limit our communication to what subscribers have requested. PRG has a discontinue contact policy-should a subscriber and/or donor wish to no longer receive our communications, they can contact us by email or phone to opt-out.
PRG will collect only donor information that is provided by the donor. In the case of individual donations, that consists of the information provided through an online third party, primarily GiveMN.org, or from information on checks or letters or emails from donors. In the case of foundation or corporate donors, the information comes from their own documentation or from resources such as the annual Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Foundations Directory. In soliciting donations from program clients who may not have donated before, we use the information they provided at the time of service.
Donors may correct their contact information or any other information we have collected by phone, email, mail, through our website, or via social media, all of which are readily available in all our communication methods.
