Rebuilding the Village

Rebuilding the Village (formerly Park Avenue Youth & Family Services) focuses on bringing families together to be the support system for each other in the places where our social systems fail. As we have watched the transformation in our communities over the last few years, we realized that the time had come when we also needed to transform in order to fully serve the families that we care so deeply about. 

Too often, children and families fall through the cracks of the systems that are supposed to help support them.

We recognized that the “village” that had been there when we were growing up was no longer in place for many of our children. Missing were the aunties, uncles, grandmas and grandpas who were present in the community to nurture us, support us, and redirect us when we needed it. 

We will continue to be responsive to the changing needs of the families that we serve, while focusing on self empowerment, social justice, cultural history, and education.
