Encouraging a healthy community, changing lives, growing resources, purchasing new equipment, offering education, supporting scholarships.

You live and work in this area because you prefer the quality of life offered to you and your family. You like the pace here. You like having everything you need, including your healthcare just down the road. Our staff at Madelia Health has meaningful connections with the people we care for and the communities we serve. Our work becomes personal when we provide care to our neighbors and friends. Each gift to the Foundation ensures that our community’s healthcare needs are being met locally, for now and for the future.

The Madelia Community Hospital Foundation oversees fundraising activities for the Madelia Community Hospital & Clinic. Funds raised through our activities support state-of-the-art healthcare services at the Hospital & Clinic and provide the Hospital & Clinic with new equipment and training.

Annual activities include

  • a Golf Outing in early June

  • a 5K Run/Walk in conjunction with Madelia's Park Days

  • an bi-annual fall fundraising campaign.

We also host a bi-annual Gala/Banquet that funds a specific purchase for the Hospital & Clinic. The Foundation actively solicits gifts from community donors and encourages employee giving through a payroll deduction plan.

We sponsor outreach events that increase community awareness of the Hospital & Clinic’s services and promote healthy lifestyles. Our annual bicycle safety event, winter bowling activities for school-aged children, and health screening initiatives for 6th grade students connect us with school aged children. A summertime Farmers' Market offers healthy eating alternatives to the Madelia community. Semi-annual Foundation Forums address topics like estate planning, the use of trusts, planned giving, and the importance of medical directives.

Our community partners include the Madelia School District 837, the Madelia City Police Department, the Madelia Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, local businesses, and business leaders.

The Foundation provides scholarships for students in Madelia and Lake Crystal pursuing health care careers. Two scholarships are awarded annually. In addition, the annual Yoshiko Masters Memorial Scholarship awards financial aid to an area student pursuing a career in radiology or laboratory science.
