Little Red Schoolhouse District 59 Inc

This unique red brick one-room schoolhouse located at its original site, 5 miles SW of Litchfield, MN, celebrated its 100th Birthday in 2013!

It's mission is to both preserve the Little Red Schoolhouse, and promote the history and culture of rural education in Litchfield, and throughout MN. 

How are we fulfilling the mission statement?  Our main goal is to have elementary students come out to the school to "revisit a day in the life of a country school."  After needed repairs/updates, we have started doing field trips.  To date we have had field trips from Litchfield and Hutchinson.  The students and teachers LOVED it!

Events include,  Holiday Craft Fair, Annual Meeting and Picnic, Pie and Ice Cream Social, and an Open House.  Also available for groups/families to rent for events.
