The Inner Hero

Dear Friends of The Inner Hero,

We are excited to share the many opportunities we have to positively impact youth and families in the Twin Cities:

- Our Youth Pathway to Civic Education and Careers (YPCEC) launched at Fridley High School with 45 students enrolled. We are connecting with leaders in the communities and school districts to expand this program in 2024. Currently, we are also working in the Robbinsdale school district at Cooper High School with 500+ students and at FAIR Crystal Middle School with 400+ students. We are also in the Brooklyn Center School District with 200+ students.

- We have the After-School Program in the Brooklyn Center school district at the Brooklyn Center Elementary School with 35 students presently enrolled.

- During the summer, we offer a Summer-School program at the same location as the After-School Program, with 25 students presently enrolled.

- The Inner Hero partnered with Toys for Tots to distribute holiday gifts to over 1000 children, with the help of 150+ volunteers who wrapped gifts.

- In September, 80 kids received free back-to-school haircuts and backpacks with school supplies.

- Our 8th annual basketball tournament was a huge success, with 38 teams and nearly 5000 community members attending the day-long event in July.

- We hosted four food distribution events this year, each supporting more than 250 families.

- We mentored 25 young people, and 50 more are ready to be paired with a mentor. Our goal is to train ten new adult mentors this year.
