The Center for Homicide Research exists “to serve as a catalyst for homicide prevention and homicide case clearance through empirical research, with a strong focus on under-researched and marginalized populations, and organizational partnerships.”

We strive to create unique data that revolves around relatively untouched topics and focus.Originally created in 1999 as the MN Gay Homicide Study, we are the only homicide research institution the country. We are the creators of the only LGBT Homicide database in the country and have partnered with numerous organizations across the country to conduct innovative studies regarding homicide.

A major part of our organization is our internship we provide for College and University students. This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to attain a career in criminal investigation and analysis to get some real world experience under their belt.

We need your support to keep our work alive and do the investigation that others will not. The magic of being a non-profit is that we are here to represent those who feel under-represented. We are here to give the disenfranchised a voice and with your gift you can too!
