Family Tree Clinic is a change agent cleverly disguised as a sexual health and education center.
Since 1971, Family Tree Clinic has been cultivating a healthy community through comprehensive sexual health care and education. We serve over 20,000 people each year.
We believe health care is a human right. Which is why we center people most marginalized by major health care systems. We're here for everybody.
We believe in the power of community. Our clinic is not just a healthcare provider; it's a healing space where people come to receive joyful and affirming care and education.
We deeply understand the health disparities our communities face. Which is why we never turn anyone away for an inability to pay.
Your support
From longer-than-average visit times and specialized LGBTQ services, to provider training and inclusive health education, your support enables us to innovate in ways that larger health care systems simply cannot.
To show up in this way for our communities, it takes nearly $5 million each year. That's our commitment to:
- A teenager looking for free and confidential birth control
- A 5th grader who wants to know if these feelings are normal
- A person who has experienced trauma and needs safe gynecological care
- A parent learning how to support their child as they explore their gender identity
- A family traveling hundreds of miles to access life-saving care that is banned in their home state
As a community clinic, we do this together. And we can't do it without you.
Why now?
We have the opportunity to lead health care access nationwide. In the face of increasing restrictions on reproductive and gender care across the country, Minnesota passed historic legislation safeguarding access to this essential care in our state.
But laws alone are not enough. It's up to us to ensure that these legal protections translate into real-world access. The demand for our services is growing locally, and as more people travel or relocate to Minnesota for care and to build a brighter future for themselves.
Family Tree was recently featured by NPR, online and on All Things Considered, for our vital work with Minnesota now a refuge. We are proud to be leading this work nationally as a destination for healing. But our work is far from over. This story highlights the heartbreaking reality that the huge challenges people face in trying to access care are not just legal - they're financial.
Which is why we need your help. As a sliding scale clinic, Family Tree is committed to ensuring this access remains for anyone who needs it, but funding our work is a growing challenge.
Will you donate today to defend bodily autonomy and health care as a human right?
