EAST SIDE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES, INC aka ESNS

Serving the East Side community for more than 100 years!

East Side Neighborhood Services, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, began serving Northeast Minneapolis in 1915, providing childcare and employment training. Now located in the heart of the arts district, near the Mississippi River and accessible from the River Parkway bike trail, East Side offers programs that support the vibrancy of our community and the well-being of children, youth, and adults across the Minneapolis metropolitan area and in the Northeast neighborhoods.

Northeast Child Development Center provides quality early childhood education and full-time daycare for children six weeks through the age of five or kindergarten entrance. East Side also offers seven out-of-school time programs and a summer camp, empowering youth through academic support, arts enrichment, leadership development, employment
training, and more.

Our employment training team works with low-income, unemployed, or underemployed job-seekers and supports them as they secure full-time, permanent employment. Through training, coaching, and retention counseling, we help participants build upon skills needed to earn a livable income and achieve their financial goals.

Serving over 3,000 Hennepin County households, our Metro Food Programs provide nutritional support and assistance with other resources for those who may have difficulty accessing a brick-and-mortar grocery store. We bring fresh, nutritious food directly to older adults and people with disabilities living in 39 subsidized housing locations across the Minneapolis
metropolitan area.

Adult Day at Friendship Center serves people with changes in cognitive and or physical functional capacity due to onset of disease, illness, disability, or just normal aging. Our services help older adults remain independent, relieve loneliness, and improve health and quality of life. In addition, Adult Day provides participants’ caregivers much needed respite and
peace of mind.

Our Family Healing program supports individuals who are court-mandated or voluntarily seeking non-violent conflict resolution skills and intervenes in the generational cycle of
domestic violence.

Daily senior dining as well as evidence-based health and wellness classes are offered at our community space through the Empowering Vital Aging project. In addition, our
transportation services provide accessible door-through-door transportation for older adults and people with disabilities.
