There is an old saying that says, "The money runs out before the month does." For many of our clients this is a true statement but it could also be said, "The food runs out before the month does." Hunger is a real and devastating issue within our community and does not discriminate against anyone. It affects the youngest to the oldest. We cannot justify why anyone should go to bed on an empty stomach, and it is currently happening to many of our neighbors. The need is great but not always visible, and this is why ECHO and the community have partnered for more than 33 years to fight against hunger.
Every month, ECHO distributes more than 93,000 pounds of food into our community to help with hunger relief. It is through our generous community and individual donors that we are able to fulfill our mission of preventing hunger through emergency food assistance.
