Copper Street Brass is a leader in arts education and outreach. Will you help us reach even more children with our music?

When children have access to arts education they become better learners by improving communication and problem solving skills while exercising their creativity. Despite compelling research to support the arts in schools, Minnesota elementary schools spend less than $4 a year per student on arts education - that's .0003% of per student spending. To fill in the gaps, Minnesota's elementary schools seek out arts organizations to provide vital arts and cultural experiences for their students.

That's where Copper Street Brass comes in. We are a leader in arts education. Since we were founded in 2008, we've served nearly 50,000 students in 800 school visits. Our elementary lyceum programs, "Big Ears and the Blue Ox" and "Tools of the Trade: Building Music With Brass" are carefully designed to teach music and critical listening while supporting school music standards. Our programs consistently draw rave review from children, parents, and educators alike, who tell us:

"The Big Ears program combined music appreciate with listening and thinking skills by using audience participation in a story - Very well thought out and the kids loved it!"

"Incredible musicians AND incredible teachers - everyone watching was engaged, having fun, and learning...and left wanting more!"

"The Big Ears program was fantastic! The students were all engaged and loved it! When asked how many of them wanted to play music like the performers all of their hands shot up!"

In 2017 the generosity of our donors made it possible for 3,000 elementary school children to learn critical listening and basic music skills through our "Big Ears" program. Our donors provided the matching funds to unlock grant funding from the Minnesota State Arts Board that supported 20 "Big Ears" visits to elementary schools in Southwestern Minnesota at no cost to schools strapped for arts funding.

This November we're launching our biggest ever Give To The Max Day event. Our goal is to raise $3,000 towards a cash match for our upcoming grant to support "Big Ears" next season. The MN State Arts Board program magnifies our cash match my a factor of 10, that means raising $3,000 during Give To The Max unlocks $30,000 of funding for 12 presentations of "Big Ears"!

Will you help us bring "Big Ears" to thousands more children in 2018 by making a financial contribution to Copper Street Brass?

Thank you for making it possible for us to bring our music to so many children every season!
