At ComMUSICation, music isn't just the singing or the instruments. It's a special language that builds confidence, community, and capacity for change for the youth we serve.

It takes roughly $532,000 a year to provide our newly expanded programming, and we’re serving more young people than ever. ComMUSICation (CMC) is a music youth development organization in St. Paul focused on providing accessible, high-quality music education. Our mission is to amplify young voices and cultivate skills for success through equitable access to music, collaboration, and opportunity. The youth who participate in our programs learn life and leadership skills, build community across schools and cultures, and have the opportunity to perform frequently in amazing spaces.

ComMUSICation was founded over ten years ago to fill a need in Saint Paul - to  make high quality afterschool music programs accessible to young people. Now more than ever, as music programs are cut from school budgets and young people increasingly report feelings of isolation, programs like these are absolutely essential. Every chord and every note carries a story of growth, determination, and leadership for the young people who participate.
