Cheerful Givers

I founded Cheerful Givers in 1994, when I found out that financially struggling parents, in desperation for a gift, would go to the food shelf to obtain food items for birthday gifts for their child.  I didn't want parents or their children to have to celebrate in that manner.  I wanted to help parents to have the resources to create a beautiful birthday memory for their child. 

Cheerful Givers still believes that birthday celebrations instill self-esteem and strengthen family bonds. That's why Cheerful Givers provides toy-filled gift bags for children who are living in poverty on their birthday. 

I am excited to announce two new programs. In Minnesota, we are creating Cheerful Givers sponsored "Birthday Shelves," so more parents will be able to create their child's birthday bag.  These locations will be great for our clients by being located on bus lines, more locations, and more hours accessible.

Since being featured in People magazine in 2013, we receive calls from all over the United States from parents needing birthday assistance for their children.  In 2020, we will expand our program to help parents outside of Minnesota.
