Charlenes Light Inc

Charlene's Light was created in loving memory of a dear friend, Charlene Postigo, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2008. The founder is an ovarian cancer survivor who is passionate about making a difference in the fight against this deadly cancer. She promised her friend she'll carry the torch and light the way!   Ovarian cancer is often called the silent killer. It is a serious and under-recognized threat to women's health.  It causes more deaths than any other gynecological cancer.  One in sixy-seven women will be affected.  The symptoms may be vague which makes this cancer difficult to diagnose. Currently there is no reliable test to screen for early detection.  A woman's best defense is to know the symptoms:

• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Bloating
• Back pain
• Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
• Unusual fatigue
• Frequent urination

   We care!  We want to do something about this cancer that is most often found in the later stages.  Far too many women lose the battle to this horrible disease. 

The Mission of Charlene's Light is to:

• Educate women and the community about ovarian cancer symptoms.
• Raise money for ovarian cancer research.
• Provide support and hope for patients and families.
