In the early 1980s Ben Overman, Club board member, encouraged Muriel Whiteside to make a donation of $20,000 toward our Clubs’ “Help-A-Boy, Help-A-Girl” Scholarship & Endowment Fund. Ms. Whiteside then became interested in our Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission for the less-advantaged youngsters. During the remainder of her lifetime, she gave biannually to the Clubs, totaling an additional $70,000 to the Endowment Fund.
