Angel of Hope Animal Rescue: Committed to Saving Lives Since 2003

Angel of Hope Animal Rescue, based in Anoka, Minnesota, began its mission of helping cats and kittens since in 2003.  In 2013, the Rescue faced potential closure, but a decision to step in and rebuild has since transformed it into a thriving organization. Since then, we have found loving homes for over 12,000 cats and dogs, while also building valuable partnerships with other rescues and shelters.  

For 2024, we are on track to adopt put more than 1600 cats!  Our dog program, while still small, continues to grow and evolve.

What We Do

Angel of Hope works closely with local and out-of-state shelters, impounds and overwhelmed rescue partners to brings pets into our care.  We also accept owner surrenders when possible.

Our incredible network of foster families is the backbone of our rescue.  They care for even the most vulnerable oets, including neonatal kittens and puppies requiring round-the-clock care.  To date, we have cared for 1,000 orphaned kittens and puppies, achieving a survival rate that exceeds the national average.  Or expertise in neonate care has led other rescue groups to seek our guidance and support.

Our Adoption Process

Before adoption, every pet in our care is:

• Spayed or neutered
• Up to date on Vaccines Microchipped
• Socialized to prepare them for their forever home

Additionally:

• Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia.
• Dogs are tested (and treated, if necessary) for Heartworm and tick-borne illnesses.

Our foster families play a key role in getting to know each pet’s personality and can help potential adopters find the perfect match. We’re committed to making every adoption a success—for both the pet and the adopter.

Looking Ahead

Our dream for the future is to own our own facility. This space would include:

• Communal housing for cats
• Dedicated space for dogs during medical treatment
• An in-house veterinary suite for our pets and the pets of other rescue groups
