At Mizna’s beginning, there was no other organization like it. We saw a need to provide a cultural space for Arab and SWANA communities to collectjoin together around literature, film, music, dance, and art that was created by and for us. 

Today, our work and our communities are faced with ever more urgency; our kin in Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Artsakh, and beyond face unspeakable threat and violence; our kin across the US face crackdowns on free speech, illegal deportations, and police brutality; artists and arts organizations face ever-scarcer funding and increased censorship. In these unprecedented times, there is still no organization doing what Mizna does. 

Mizna will continue to nurture a liberatory space that encourages the exchange of ideas among artists, filmmakers, writers, cultural workers, and audiences locally and around the world. To ensure that we can actualize this vision and decrease our reliance on fickle and conditional institutional support, we must expand our individual giving network. Can you help us continue our work and double our monthly donors?  

We currently have 67 monthly donors. Our goal is to reach 134 monthly donors by the end of this year. Each monthly contribution is vital in sustaining the art, values, and justice that define Mizna. Any monthly donation, even $5 per month, contributes to the living mosaic of creative expression, resistance, and vision we all belong to.
