Founded in 1924, Phyllis Wheatley Community Center has served the historically Black community on the Northside of Minneapolis for the last 100 years, standing as a beacon, resource and destination where people gather to discover their strengths, develop new skills, and fortify community bonds. Phyllis Wheatley is a recognized leader in advancing equity through holistic programs that strengthen families, restore health and expand opportunities. As we celebrate our Centennial anniversary, we look back with a sense of achievement and look forward with hope - inspired by the resilience and tenacity of our neighbors as we work together to fight for equity and opportunity.
