St James Episcopal Church Marshall, is a small rural parish, sharing and caring Eucharistic worship, fellowship, outreach and mission.
St James Episcopal Church, Marshall in southwest Minnesota is a small rural Total Ministry parish, a shared ministry congregation where everyone in the parish family is given the opportunity to find and do the ministry to which God is calling them. The call to local lay and ordained ministry is led by a team that has been ordained and commissioned to provide leadership that welcomes all to the table.
St. James is committed to Gospel Based Discipleship to discern God's call, to outreach to welcome all in community, and to support the Episcopal Church in Minnesota's annual giving Mission Goals.
Our Parish Goal: We have been so excited to be able to complete our sidewalk/ramp and new door that has enabled our 125 year old historic church to be more accessible for those with mobility disabilities and to live into our mission to "Welcome All" to enter our Red Door. Two years ago we celebrated with a Blessing and Procession into the church up the sidewalk ramp and into the sanctuary through our new, accessible Red Door. Donations of funds and the work of a church family brought garden beauty to the entrance and now we continue our Leap of Faith to raise funds to provide accessibility to our undercroft where we gather for food and fellowship. This year, our goal is to raise the needed $10,000 to install a new church sign which will also allow us to install the bell from the bell tower that years back was destroyed by lightening. We have sufficient jasper stone that matches the historic building's stone that will form the base. We will look forward to ringing the bell again in welcoming all to St. James.
Our Mission Goal is to continue to work to eliminate hunger in our community through regular food donations for our local food shelf and funds to support the Episcopal Church in Minnesota's (ECMN) annual mission goals.
