THE MOVING COMPANY is a theatre company co-led by longtime artistic collaborators Dominique Serrand, Steve Epp and Nathan Keepers
Our mission is to create and produce new and challenging theatre that builds on the past is grounded in the present and looks to the future. To maintain and nourish an atmosphere for the development of new ideas.
The Moving Company and its artists - Artistic Directors Dominique Serrand and Steven Epp, Co -Artistic Director Nathan Keepers and Artistic Associate Christina Baldwin - have a long history, not only with each other, but with the theatre community in Minneapolis and around the country. Our work is enriched by the shared vocabulary and shared history of its creators. This history gives us a strong foundation and proven track record of extraordinary work that’s been seen both locally and nationally.
Over the last several years, The Moving Company has created and performed a number of new productions, including Come Hell and High Water, Out of the Pan Into the Fire, Werther and Lotte, The Imaginary Invalid, The War Within/All's Fair, For Sale, Love's Labour's Lost, Every Sentence Is For The Birds, Tartuffe (South Coast Rep, Berkeley Rep and The Shakepeare Theatre in Washington, DC) and Liberty Falls, 54321. So far in 2017 MoCo created Refugia, produced and presented by The Guthrie. And most recently a sold out run of SPEECHLESS.
Dominique Serrand and Steven Epp are former Artistic Directors of Theatre de la Jeune Lune, where they collaborated on the creation of over 50 productions. Nathan Keepers and Christina Baldwin were both longtime collaborators with the company. Jeune Lune, based in Minneapolis from 1978-2008, was internationally recognized as influential and visionary. They received the 2005 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre Company.
