Vesper is a 501(c)3 nonprofit college that exists to sculpt contemplative space that better connects us to Earth and Community.

Vesper’s unique learning environment uses nontraditional design approaches.  Grounded in local ecology, and with an emphasis on the poetry of space, Vesper empowers the designer/builder to explore conceptual, spatial and material relationships within a studio incubator to create projects of public art and community place making.

Now in its 8th academic year, Vesper continues its nonprofit mission of teaching and mentoring Minnesota’s next generation of Citizen Artists.  And we rely on supporters like you to make it all happen.

5 Things that Vesper Teaches:

  • Design Skills: Drafting, AutoCAD, Drawing, Concept, Process Development
  • Making Skills: Welding, Bronze Pouring, Woodworking, Stoneworking, Fabrication
  • Teaching Skills: How to facilitate community studio classes
  • Public Art Commissions: Writing Narratives, Submittal layouts & graphics, Budgeting, Installation & Rigging, Maintenance
  • Eco-Architecture and the Earth: Ground/Sky/Plinth, Flora/Fauna/Microcliomates, Solar/Lunar Paths, Geology/Topography, Dakota language & culture, Community service projects

This important work is a part of a greater movement toward environmental stewardship and building a sustainable culture that will creatively enrich us for generations to come.  Thank you for your support of Vesper Atelier!
