Mobile Action Ministries

Imagine if there were a public charity that had the experience and resources to integrate volunteers, local food banks, and businesses with a mobile kitchen to bring hot, nutritionally balanced meals to those in need on a regular basis. 

Mobile Action Ministries is that organization!  We have been serving lunches to the St. Paul area homeless since 2004.  As of fiscal year 2011, under the umbrella of another non-profit organization, the ministry has served over 300,000 meals, given away over 50 cubic yards of clothes, 5,000 backpacks, and 1,250 winter boots working with over 5,000 volunteers.  Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0Tq43uhwhU for a project we facilitated with a Stillwater confirmation group.

On July 26, 2011 the ministry, now called Mobile Action Ministries, came into its own as a Minnesota non-profit, IRS tax-exempt organization.  Our mission is ‘to feed the bodies and souls of the hungry and homeless in Minnesota using a mobile kitchen’.  As a corporate partner of Hunger-Free Minnesota, our vision is to expand our reach to help close the Minnesota 100 million-meal gap.

A typical serving day includes a trained leader, a team of 6 to 8 volunteers (family, friends, organization, etc.); a pre-set menu (hot turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, roll, fresh fruit, granola bar, juice or water, and coffee, a pre-determined serving site (Dorothy Center); and the mobile kitchen.

This is how you fit into the equation. We are asking you to consider a $25 monetary donation to purchase 10 meals.  Our goal is to support 25,000 meals in 2013.  We would also invite you to join us for a service day.  Go to mobileactionministries.org, click on 'volunteer' and sign up.
