The Arc’s Mission Advocating and supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families as they choose how they live, learn, work, and play. Our vision is a world where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are more self-reliant, empowered, and able to make choices in their lives.

The Arc United is committed to securing opportunities for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We  create programs and opportunities for all to learn, live, work, play and plan their future while realizing their goals. ​ Every individual and family served has access to program information, advocacy and skill building opportunities.   ​ The Arc United helps to create active citizens of our democracy and active members of their community.  We work to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities along with their families, have the support  they need to live an ordinary and prosperous life.
