In nature, when pollen spreads, new things grow. Stories have the same power.

We live in a world where systemic racism and injustice are continually reinforced through the perpetuation of harmful narratives, policies, and actions steeped in the toxicity of white supremacy, concentrated power, and deferred justice. The nation’s eyes are on the Twin Cities. The choices we make and the stories we tell as a region could resonate in communities far beyond ours. What narrative will emerge from 2021?

Pollen is here to imagine a better future. As Pollen spreads new stories, we’re focused on the way they can come together to dismantle existing dynamics, and build a new narrative in their place. Stories about moving from self-care to community care. Stories demanding new, more just and healing approaches to public safety.  Stories reflecting on the lessons of past movements and ideas for building a better future together.

With your support, Pollen will use storytelling, art, and connection to break down the harmful narratives that are obstacles to a more equitable, vibrant Minneapolis and St. Paul. In their place, our work seeks to elevate narratives that help us imagine—and work toward—a better future in our region.
