StepUP is a residential program at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, for students in recovery. Since it was founded in 1997, StepUP has helped more than 650 students achieve success.

StepUP serves more than 85 students annually and is the largest residential collegiate recovery program in the U.S.  Students live in an alcohol- and drug-free residence hall and participate fully in the life of the college. There is no additional cost for students to participate in StepUP.

Augsburg College and the StepUP community are proud of the accomplishments of StepUP students. To date, StepUP students’ average grade-point average is 3.2 (of 4.0). Since inception, the StepUP abstinence rate has averaged 93%.

Both academic achievement and personal success are key factors in StepUP. The program creates an environment that supports a student’s ability to succeed in social, educational, and occupational pursuits. StepUP students can participate in study-abroad programs, conduct research with faculty mentors, complete off-campus internships, serve on student government, and play varsity and intramural sports.

Your financial support helps the StepUP program:

- Continue to provide free services to students.

- Hire experienced, licensed counselors who are passionate about working with and supporting college students.

- Provide opportunities for more students to be served.

Thank you for Giving to the Max on November 14, and helping us achieve our goals.
