Who We Are: Built by Neighbors, Driven by Love At Sota Saves, we connect animals in need with people who care. Founded in 1989 as Carver Scott Humane Society, our work has grown for 35 years. Today, from our Adoption & Wellness Center in Hopkins, MN, we provide foster homes, gentle veterinary care, and judgment-free support for local families. To us, "Sota" stands for neighbors stepping up: foster parents, volunteers, veterinary teams, and donors working as one team.

Together, this community powers our programs that make our work possible every single day:

• Helping you and your neighbors find their best friend: There's no such thing as a "perfect" pet parent, so we do not expect you to be one. We use an open, conversation-based process to match the right pet to your lifestyle, lowering adoption barriers so pets find great homes faster.
• Giving pets a soft place to land: For almost all our pets, rescue starts in a home. Over 200 volunteer foster families open their doors to provide cozy beds, playtime, and love, while we supply all the food, medical attention, and guidance they need.
• Helping families stay together: We help keep pets with their owners through the good and bad times. From providing pet food to helping connect families to temporary foster care until a family is back on their feet, our goal is to give the support needed so hardship doesn't have to mean saying goodbye.

How We Work: Powered by Community and Partnerships

There is only one way to help animals: together. Alongside our core programs, we rely on regional teamwork to save more lives:

• Rescue Partnerships: When overcrowded shelters in Minnesota and across the country run out of space, we step in to welcome their animals into our care and give them a second chance.

• Neighborhood Adoption Spaces: Meet our adoptable cats at our Hopkins Wellness Center, inside local retail partners like PetSmart, Petco, and Chuck & Don's, and at community pop-ups from local breweries to farmers markets.

• Community-First Care: We provide support directly from our center so our neighbors always have a trusted place to turn for help.
