Help Jack fight cancer. Again.

This summer, a long-time LLS volunteer family received devastating news. At 19, poised to start his sophomore year of college, Jack would be fighting leukemia for the fifth time. First diagnosed at just 8 years old, he hasn’t had a single school year since uninterrupted by cancer treatment or surgeries to address treatment side effects.

Now at his dream college, The University of St. Thomas, Jack has a scholarship from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) waiting for him when he can safely return to class.

This is what the Dare to Dream Project is all about--helping kids like Jack. LLS recognizes kids are different and their blood cancers need to be treated differently, so we are daring to change the paradigm of treatment and care of pediatric blood cancers. Our dream is to help as many children as possible get treatment for their cancer. We have already facilitated progress by launching the first-ever LLS PedAL Master Clinical Trial, matching acute leukemia patients to treatment based on their cancer's unique tumor biology. But more needs to be done.

Jack will continue to have significant, life-long medical expenses as he is followed for signs of relapse and long-term side effects of prolonged chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Your contributions will help patients like Jack start their independent adult lives unburdened by medical expenses.

In Minnesota, we're proud to have the LLS master PedAL clinical trial (pediatric acute leukemia) running at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, Children's of Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic. Not only is this initiative global in scope, but also extremely local in order to bring the treatment to the patient rather than make the patient travel to the treatment.

We know there are so many worthy causes to consider supporting today, so we are grateful for your consideration of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Everyone deserves to see a world without blood cancers! For more information about the Dare to Dream initiative, visit here: https://www.lls.org/dare-to-dream
